UNIQUE PLACES TO STAY IN GREECE

If you are planning your next Greek holiday, if you are as picky as I am and if you believe that the difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra, keep reading because here are some of the most unique places to stay in Greece. Each of them charming in its own way and with a beautiful story to tell!

The Vasilicos, Santorini Island. Although Santorini is  one of the most popular destinations and at times can become a bit too crowded, a stay at The Vasilicos will make you forget about everything and everyone. Its location, exactly on the cliffs in the heart of Imerovigli, its privacy and its thoughtfulness make it the perfect place for those who are seeking breathtaking landscapes, romantic views and poetic vibes 24/7!

Kyrimai Hotel, Peloponnese. Located in Gerolimenas, one of the smallest and most untouched fishing villages in the southern part of the Mani Peninsula, Kyrimai Hotel is definitely one of the most unique places to stay in Greece. The primitive experience of landscape, the abundance of underwater life and a romantic delicious dinner on the pier, literally a few centimetres from the water, make you rediscover the explorer in you. Ideal for scuba divers, snorkelling fans and sea lovers!

Four Seasons Astir Palace Athens. It might be part of a global hotel group, which I usually don’t find particularly attractive, but Four Seasons Astir Palace Athens has managed to preserve traces of its glamorous Athenian past. Located in Vouliagmeni, a tranquil suburb of Athens, this place guarantees great sea views all day long. Make sure you set aside enough time to enjoy your breakfast as it is really delicious. Don’t forget to pamper yourself with a massage or two at one of the spa’s suites overlooking the Aegean Sea. Perfect for those who want to explore Athens but still start and end their day in a little oasis surrounded by some of Attica’s most cosy beaches.

Aristide Hotel, Syros Island. Housed in an old neoclassical building in Ermoupoli , the capital of Syros Island and Cyclades, Aristide Hotel offers nine suites full of colours and arty cosy corners. Rooms and bathrooms are beautifully decorated, but it’s the beautiful courtyard and the even more beautiful roof terrace that make this place so special. Are you an art lover or looking for places full of history and character? Do you know how to appreciate an exquisite breakfast full of fresh ingredients and local delicacies? If the answer is yes, you will definitely want to come back!

Istoria Hotel, Santorini. There is no better place for eternal Greek summer lovers and barefoot explorers than Istoria Hotel. Located on Perivolos beach, this place is a minimalistic oasis away from the mess. Best part? Starting the day with a delicious barefoot breakfast - in fact one of the most delicious breakfasts I’ve ever had - followed by a relaxing morning by one of Santorini’s most beautiful pools! Perfect for those who simply want to disconnect and relax!
