TUSCANY

ITALY

It took me more than an hour to find the right way to start writing about Tuscany. Deciding what to put in writing in order to describe this beautiful part of the world is not an easy task. Simply because there are really no words that can portray the dazzling views, the earthy smells, the absolute green, the bright sky, and the wonderful sunset  that without doubt makes the romance of it even more intense.

So, not many words about Tuscany. Just rent a car and let the fun begin! Take a flight to Pisa and start your little adventure here.

Drive to Livorno and Cecina to enjoy the sea view and some fresh fish before heading to Volterra. Next stop is San Gimignano or Siena.

Then head down and start exploring Val d’Orcia. Have a look at Montalcino and then Bagno Vignoni. Finally Pienza is one of the cutest little Italian towns so make sure you have plenty of time to wander its narrow streets and enjoy some proper Italian wine.

If you wonder where to spend the night, try agrotourism or agriturismo as Italians call it. A must while in Tuscany! There are plenty of beautiful farm houses in the region. However if you want to have an authentic agrotourism experience, try booking a room at Pian di Meta Vecchia.

Pian di Meta Vecchia is beautiful farm house with comfortable rooms, excellent red wine and tasty homemade food - so you don't even need to worry about dinner - located in the heart of Val d’Orcia.

Finally, a road trip around Tuscany wouldn’t be a real road trip without getting lost somewhere between dirt roads, cypress trees, the absolute green and colourful sunsets.

Most probably getting lost in Tuscany will be the best and most memorable part of your trip, which you will always remember. After all this is the best way to explore the area and discover beautiful views.

So, when in Tuscany, don’t worry about going the wrong way. Eventually, the GPS or Google maps will help you find your way back!
