FOODIE PLACES IN PARIS
FRANCE
There are so many things to do in Paris. It is technically impossible to number them all - I would need to write a book not a blog! But I do think that love goes through the stomach and with Paris being famous for its romantic charm I can't help but write about food. And more precisely, the hidden foodie places that stole my heart and that every foodie or wine lover should visit.

Cave de Chaillot. There are simply some places that have that little something special...I call it an eye for the details and a big love for what you do. And Cave de Chaillot is one of them! Located in the 16th arrondissement, just steps away from the Seine and Palais du Tokyo, it is the perfect wine bar for those that appreciate honest wine accompanied by honest bites. In reality, Cave de Chaillot is a wine shop that also serves as a wine bar.

Small, intimate and full of soul is that neighbourhood wine bar that feels like second home. This is where you will find a lot of famous but also independent and artisan wine labels as well as a few choices by the glass. And although it is all about wine, there is also a very interesting selection of carefully selected French snacks: from Corsican saucisson to Fleur du Maquis cheese and much more. A must visit for all real wine explorers out there!

Saints Pères. Located in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Saints Pères is a sensory space, a porcelain atelier, a coffee bar and an extra virgin oil bar that is impossible to walk by without noticing it. Its design and its concept make it one of its kind. The space is minimal and ‘raw’, something that perfectly captures the essence of the brand and reflects their philosophy about craftsmanship.

Inside you can find a selection of high-quality extra virgin olive oils from all over the world as well as exclusive pieces of porcelain, from tableware to diffusers, as well as a workshop area. If you love ‘raw’ unprocessed ingredients and you are very picky with what you put in your plate but also on your kitchen countertop, don’t miss this place.

You can do an extra virgin olive oil tasting, buy your favourite olive oil and then choose your own unique hand-shaped porcelain bottle to pour it in. And for something really extra, you can book the space for a private event or even create your own porcelain piece by booking one of their workshops.

Jolie Miche Boulangerie. With two branches, one in the 16th and one in the 17th arrondissement, Jolie Miche is a gourmet bakery with a really yummy selection of sweet and savoury delicacies as well as bread…some really crunchy and delicious bread!

So, if you want to treat yourself to some nice pastries or simply buy some bread stop by…you will not regret it. Some of my favourite ones are Jolie Miche’s baguette, the ‘brioche au sucre’ as well as the ‘pain brioche’, ham, sun-dried tomato and truffle oil cheese sandwich.

Alléosse. If you love everything about cheese and you are keen on trying France’s most famous but also artisanal or more rare cheeses, Alléosse is made for you! Located in the 17th arrondissement, in the heart of Rue Poncelet food market, this fromagerie is one of the most authentic ones in Paris and all over France.

Not only do they work with carefully selected farmers and cheese producers, but they also believe in the art of cheese aging. In fact, Alléosse is one of the best and perhaps one of the few cheesemongers or cheese shops in Paris that own their own cellar. And, according to them, the cheese maturation period is a kind of science as it really defines the development of each cheese’s taste and texture.
