Stepping into Mirror Room felt like I was part of a film set or invited to dinner by Alice in Wonderland. Obviously, Alice never showed up and no Rabbit was involved. Instead, Claudio Melis and his very professional team made my dining experience unforgettable.
Located in Merano, on the ground floor of Villa Irma, Mirror Room is a magically beautiful space, an intimate hideaway and the most romantic restaurant in South Tyrol.
Open from June to September and surrounded by greenery, glass and mirrors, Mirror Room focuses on ‘right here right now’. No mountain views, no lake views, and no city views. In general, no views at all apart from green!
Because it is not about the actual geographical location. It is about disconnecting from the outside world, stepping back from the noise of daily life and somehow being able to fully enjoy each other…while enjoying great flavours and an interesting wine list of course!
Speaking about flavours…food at Mirror Room is as good as everything else but I did fell in love with the Alpine salmon trout accompanied by daikon spaghetti, mango and apple as well as the chocolate lava cake. Best chocolate lava cake in South Tyrol!
