MY FAVOURITE SWIMMING

POOLS

I don’t know about you but I love floating or swimming. So I do love beautiful swimming pools too! There are thousands of cool and impressive swimming pools out there but I prefer the less known ones and the ones that really made me spend most of my holiday in the water. Here are my favourite ones!

Amanoi, VietnamBy far one of pools with the best view. Located in the heart of a national park, Amanoi is definitely one of the most secluded hotels so is the pool. It is perfect for those that want to spoil themselves away from the crowds!

Beachfront Villa Estate, Isla Palenque, Panama.

This swimming pool is part of the beachfront villa of this super secluded sustainable luxury island resort. It is ideal for all the explorers or curious adventurers that love tropical wildlife or respect nature but they still enjoy having an amazing fresh cocktail by the pool. This is where you can swim while being surrounded by monkeys that keep jumping from tree to tree literally only a couple of meters away. A truly unforgettable experience!

Miramonti Boutique Hotel, The Dolomites, ItalyThis is my favourite swimming pool for cold winter days! I am not sure if it is the view of the Dolomites, the underwater music, or the perfectly calm surroundings but this pool is unquestionably one of my favourite winter ‘places to be’.

Portes Houses, Koufonisia, GreeceIf I had to choose the most ‘unpretentious’ swimming pool I would definitely choose this one! It is surrounded by Greek style white houses, cactus, or Mediterranean herbs and it is the perfect swimming pool for all travellers who love hot sunny summer days and more ‘laid back’ places.

The Siam Hotel, ThailandThis is probably the best pool for art deco or colonial architecture lovers that seek places with unique style, character and best service possible – I am talking about having your personal butler ready to help you with whatever you need!

The Margi, Athens, GreeceWhy do I love the pool at The Margi? It is an unexpected little oasis in a very noisy city, like Athens. Not really visible from the outside, the pool is surrounded by beautiful cabanas, sun lounges, a poolside bar and restaurant.  It is not about the actual pool. It is more about the fun ambience around the pool.

Viroth’s Hotel, Siem Reap, CambodiaSwimming in the pool of Viroth’s hotel might be one of the most colourful swimming experiences. The pool itself is not colourful but everything else is. Guests are surrounded by colourful chairs, colourful cocktails and colourful tropical plants or flowers. However, what makes it really special is the ‘no-wall’ policy. There are barely any walls in the main areas of the hotel so it kind of feels special!

Baan Puri Villa, Koh Samui, ThailandAre you looking for the most relaxing, private, exotic, beachfront pool? Are you looking for a pool where you can jump in as soon as you open your eyes in the morning or where you can enjoy a fresh coconut juice, some mango fruit or beautiful sunset views?  If the answer is yes, this might be the swimming pool you have been searching for! Enjoy it!
